NEW SPIRIT'S JAF
(JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE FLOUR)
IS BETTER THAN EVER!
New
Probiotic Mix!
JAF
is a superior food supplement designed to support the growth of bifidobacteria,
the most prevalent intestinal flora in a healthy digestive tract. This exclusive
product pioneered the use of Jerusalem artichokes as the primary "food
source" for these desirable flora.
Only the highest quality Jerusalem artichokes are selected and specially
processed to preserve the long chain polymers known as fructooligosaccharides
(FOS). These FOS cannot be metabolized by either human digestive enzymes
or most undesirable gut microorganisms.
In Japan, FOS has been successfully marketed because it has been shown to
reduce constipation, blood pressure, blood lipids and cholesterol in humans.
Studies by Yamashita et. al. report the positive effects of fructooligosaccharides
on blood glucose and serum lipids in diabetic subjects. Daily intake of
8.0g/day of fructooligosaccharides for 14 days significantly reduced mean
fasting blood glucose levels by 15 mg/dl, mean serum total cholesterol levels
by 19 mg/dl and LDL cholesterol levels by 17 mg/dl in 18 diabetic subjects.
New Spirit's JAF provides not only a rich source of FOS, but also an exceptional
source of healthy probiotics.
What are probiotics?
Researchers have discovered that millions of microorganisms are busy at
work in the intestines. These unique microorganisms, referred to as probiotics,
simultaneously and synergistically assist in the metabolism of partially
digested food and control the growth of pathogenic organisms like streptococci,
lostridin, chloroform, candida, and bacteroids. These microorganisms may
also play a role in preventing or reducing the effects of an infection caused
by an invading pathogenic organism. The most common probiotics include various
strains of lactobacillus and bifidus.
Over 60 scientific papers extolling the benefits of probiotics have been
published since 1925.
What may cause you to have a low level of probiotics in your system?
Day-to-day living conditions such as stress, use of antibiotics and or medicines,
improper food and rest, the onset of disease, and a polluted environment
often result in the reduction of the beneficial bacteria, including lactobacillus
and bifidobacteria, in the gut.

referred to as Candida.
Can one get sufficient probiotics by consuming a normal diet?
Unfortunately, no! Today's food processing methods kill most probiotics.
Many strains are also killed in the highly acidic environment of the human
stomach and upper duodenum.
How is the New Spirit probiotic blend in JAF different from most other
brands?
There are three distinct differences.
1) They are highly concentrated. Our cultured strains contain from 5 billion
to 10 billion per gram.
2) They are strains which have been shown to survive the acid environment
of the stomach and the duodenum, where bile is released.
3) They are dairy-free strains that can be used by individuals who are lactose
intolerant.
Which probiotics are used by New Spirit Naturals and what are their specific
benefits?
L. Acidophilus (the primary healthy microorganism in the upper small
intestines)
Benefits
-
Inhibits the growth of pathogenic flora, bacteria, and yeasts such as candida by producing lactic acid and several nontoxic naturally-occurring antibiotics.
-
Lowers intestinal pH, which results in a corresponding lowering of harmful oxidation reduction processes.
-
As competitive antagonists, competes with other bacteria for attachment sites. This limits the opportunities for non-friendly microorganisms to gain a foothold.
-
Assists in the production of enzyme groups such as pro-teases and lipases, which help digest proteins and fats respectively.
-
Produces significant quantities of lactase enzymes, which helps in the alleviation of lactose intolerance caused by a deficiency of these enzymes. This reduces the possibility of bad breath, bloating, acid indigestion and stomach cramps.
-
Assists in the production of B vitamins, particularly folic acid, which are biocatalysts in food digestion.
-
Helps enhance calcium metabolism
-
Helps reduce serum cholesterol levels
-
By virtue of inhibiting gastrointestinal and uro-pathogens, may reduce the occurrence of diarrhea, and urinary and vaginal infections.
L
Salivarius (small intestine bacteria)
New Spirit's L. Salivarius is a specially stabilized probiotic which
flourishes in your small intestine. It is highly prolific, doubling its
population of viable organisms every 20 minutes. Unlike most other probiotics,
it is naturally able to adapt and survive in an aerobic environment. As
such, our L. Salivarius is the only aerobic and anaerobic bacteria
currently available.
Benefits
Extremely effective when used to eliminate the symptoms of a toxic bowel.
Numerous studies have concluded that intestinal toxemia is either the cause
of, or a serious contributing factor to, many chronic conditions and degenerative
diseases. There are many causes of intestinal toxemia, including slow bowel
transit time, constipation, pancreatic insufficiency, reduced intestinal
permeability, intestinal blockage, kidney or liver pathology, and impaired
intestinal flora.
A list of conditions associated with bowel toxemia include:
-
Acne
-
Headaches
-
Sciatica
-
Cardiac Irregularities
-
Foul Breath & Body Odor
-
Allergy
-
Gas & Bloating
-
Asthma
-
Liver & Gallbladder Problems
-
Eye, Ear & Nose Disease
-
Cancer
-
Eczema & Rashes
-
Mental Disorders
-
Failing Memory
-
Breast Pathology
-
Lowered Immunity
Benefits
-
Assists in the production of a naturally occurring antibiotic.
-
Is highly absorptive for carcinogens produced by the charring of meats.
-
Has a high bile tolerance, liberating free bile acids and influencing the balance of existing bacteria.
B.
Bifidum (Dominant in the lower small intestines and the human vagina)
Benefits
- Creates acetic acid and works synergistically with L. Acidophilus (which creates lactic acid) to encourage the growth of other beneficial probiotics and reduce the numbers of bad bacteria.
- Helps decompose, and possibly suppress the production of, nitrosamines (cancer causing substances) in the intestines.
- Promotes proper bacteria balances and prohibits harmful bacteria from adhering to the lining of the intestines and creates macrophages.
-
Produces several of the B vitamins
- Helps lower serum cholesterol.
-
Has an inhibitory effect on many pathogenic organisms, including salmonella, shigella, clostridium, bacillus cereus, staphylococcus aurous, candida albicans and campylobacter jejuni.
B.
Infantis, B. Adolescentis, B. Longum
These are the predominant healthy microorganisms in the colon, accounting
for about 99% of the cultivatable flora. Bifidobacterium are observed to
decrease with age.
Benefits
-
Has a strong antagonistic effect against gram-negative bacteria.
-
Helps ferment carbohydrates to L(+)-lactic acid.
-
Contains active antitumor constituents.
-
Increases vitamin production
-
Increases calcium absorption.
-
Competes for nutrients and attachment sites on the intestinal epithelial surfaces, which helps to prevent the colonization of the intestine by invading pathogens.
